After breakfast, proceed on a full day tour to Cape
Point and the Cape of Good Hope, the most South
Westerly point of the continent of Africa. Sir
Francis Drake, the explorer, called it the fairest
Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the
globe. At Hout Bay take a short boat ride to see the
Seal Colony. After the visit to Cape Point return
via False Bay with a stop at Boulder’s Beach to see
a breeding colony of Jackass Penguins. Visit the
historic Manor House of Groot Constantia, originally
established by Simon van der Stel in the late 17th
century, before driving to the world famous
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Enjoy a
walk through the gardens in their magnificent
setting against Table Mountain. Return to the hotel
in the late afternoon. Later, enjoy a sumptuous

Depart Cape Town and drive past wine lands,
orchards, wheat and cereal fields, through mountain
passes to the area known as the Little Karoo. Noted
for its wide-open spaces and shrubby vegetation, it
is an area once home to herds of antelope and now
used for sheep and ostrich farming. In the late
afternoon, arrive in Oudtshoorn, the feather capital
of the world. Visit an Ostrich Farm to learn more
about these fascinating, flightless birds and there
is even the possibility to ride one! Overnight in

After breakfast, drive to the famous Cango Caves and
visit the first six chambers. The stalactite and
stalagmite formations are an incredible sight. The
Cango Wildlife Ranch is famous for its cheetah
conservation programme and is a highlight of the
tour as you get to see these cats in their natural
habitat. There is also the opportunity to have your
photograph taken with one of these beautiful cats.
Drive to Knysna, a town that grew as a result of its
beauty. The lagoon, the amphitheatre of mountains
that surround the town and the gentle weather all
attracted earlier visitors and continue to attract
visitors today. The Heads are two sandstone
sentinels that mark the mouth of the Knysna Lagoon.
In past centuries they were the scenes of many
dramatic shipwrecks. The Knysna Forests, those
mysterious leafy places that attract visitors, gave
birth to an entire timber industry that was once the
lifeblood of the town. Overnight in Knysna. |
